PASTORAL CARE

I have found that offering pastoral care is central to all my work – in chance meetings, in intentional counseling sessions, and in nurturing the listening, compassionate heart in small group work.  My goal is for myself, or others I train, to be able to offer caring connections, to provide a supportive presence when people may be struggling, alone, or in pain.
Over the years, I have trained pastoral listeners, created teams of “helping hands” to offer concrete aid, and trained facilitators to lead small groups for connecting and soul work.

“You made such a difference in my and Miranda's life. Your welcoming smile every Sunday during a time when I didn't have a solid footing anywhere was so instrumental for my healing. When you took the time to meet with me on issues that were important to me, brought together single moms at our church, conducted Miranda's dedication are just a few examples of memories that I will forever keep with me. If you hadn't been so nice to us we may not have continued going to church.
Thank you so much for your open arms and loving heart - you are a true living example of our UU principles."
