COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

It is important for a congregation to develop authentic partnerships with groups that are working on issues we want to support.  Rather than invent the wheel on every cause, I advocate for discovering who in the community is at work already (i.e., Dreamer groups helping immigrant children, Food banks feeding the poor, agencies providing housing and counseling, etc), and then developing genuine partnerships – by which the congregation learns from the group, and in returns offers financial  support, volunteerism, or advocacy as needed.

"Your commitment to make things better in our community aligns so well with our values, and we marvel at all you have done on behalf of people who need a bigger voice and more resources so that they can better care for themselves and their families."
